OK, so you’ve made it through the first weekend and you’re ready to settle down for the week ahead. Not so fast now, this is Thanksgiving weekend— the long weekend—and it’s not quite over yet. If you’re feeling a little weary already, don’t worry, we’ve got just the thing to lift your spirits and perk you right up! Fiddles and pipes and steps and songs are the order of the day, and it’s a cabaret so there’s plenty of time for each of these groups to stretch out in their set. Plus there’s drinks available, for those who are so inclined, so be prepared for a full night of music, dancing and good times. Cape Breton’s Beòlach and Scotland’s Breabach have much in common with similar lineups featuring fiddles, pipes, and dancing. While Breabach’s sound includes beautiful vocals and harmonizing compared to Beòlach’s strictly instrumental repertoire, Gaelic is at the core of both bands. Ireland’s Socks in the Frying Pan fit right in with dynamic vocal harmonies, virtuosic musical ability and an onstage wit that is sure to overflow to laughs backstage with everyone. Critically acclaimed and popular Cape Breton band Pretty Archie makes their Celtic Colours debut.
