These two-somes will be coming from all directions to get together for some tunes in North River. We’ll see how music runs in the family and through communities, up-close and personal in this intimate community hall. Gaelic singer and scholar Margaret Bennett is here from Scotland to meet up with Aberdeen-born singer Norman Kennedy. This is just the place for their deep repertoire of traditional Scottish song. Brothers Dan and Paul MacDonald grew up with the music an hour away in Ironville. They’ve been playing fiddle and guitar since they were kids, with family bands and other folks along the way. Maxim Cormier also picked up the music at home in Chéticamp from his father Gervais. The guitar duo plays a range of tunes from classical to Celtic. Father-son two-some Michael and Tracy Cavanaugh, from nearby Englishtown, round out the afternoon.
