Ùr literally means “new” in Gaelic and for the third year in a row, an exciting new group of students hand- picked from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland will be showcasing their exceptional talents during Celtic Colours. This year’s edition of Ùr: The Future of our Past maintains the high standard set by their predecessors. Featuring pipes, whistles, fiddle, guitar, clarsach, piano and song, these young players and singers will ensure the hills of Ingonish are alive with music tonight. Cape Breton singer and songwriter Cyril MacPhee is a familiar face in this area and a regular performer at the nearby Keltic Lodge resort. Always ready with his quick wit and a great song to back it up, Cyril is one of the Island’s favourite performers. Tonight’s concert at this beautiful church in scenic Ingonish introduces award- winning Danish duo Gangspil. With island roots and a musical culture inspired by dance and folk music, they should have no problem fitting in here.
Hosted by St. Peter's Parish CWL
