UPPER BOWL SEATING

The 23rd Celtic Colours International Festival kicks off at Centre 200 in Sydney with the world’s best-known Irish band, The Chieftains, and some friends they’ve met here, there and everywhere along the way. On their fourth visit to Cape Breton for Celtic Colours, they’ll be meeting up with friends from years gone by—celebrated Cape Breton fiddler Ashley MacIsaac and U.K. guitar and accordion sensation Tim Edey. Of course, the Chieftains will be bringing some friends with them, as they usually do. Original Chieftains Paddy, Matt, and Kevin will be joined onstage by some familiar faces including Triona Marshall on harp, Alyth MacCormack on vocals, dancers Cara Butler and Nathan Pilatzke, and fiddler/dancer Jon Pilatzke. Tonight’s concert also offers an opportunity for Ashley MacIsaac to team up with long-time friend—award-winning Scottish piano and harp player and composer—Phamie Gow, more than a decade after performing together on Broadway in the dance show Tapeire. This will be a great night to get together with your friends and join in the fun!
