Boisdale is located in the center of Cape Breton Island, almost completely surrounded by the magnificent Bras d'Or Lake—Canada’s famous inland sea which was designated a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve in 2011. Expect a lively night of tunes and Gaelic song—just the way they like it here in Boisdale, where traditional music, language and dancing have played a central role since Scottish immigrants settled in the early 1800s. The community still gets together regularly to celebrate their culture, and dances and concerts are held year-round at the Boisdale Fire Hall. With this collection of musicians gathered and the traditional hospitality of the community, you can't miss tonight. The unique pairing of acclaimed fiddler Dwayne Côté and piano player Betty Beaton will entertain with tunes from the Cape Breton and Scottish traditions, while Bríd Harper and Dermot Byrne contribute tunes from the Irish tradition played at the highest level, and Colin and Lili Watson complete the night in true Cape Breton style with a selection of Gaelic songs.
