Located on the north eastern coast of Isle Madame, an Acadian community connected by bridge to the beautiful and rugged south west coast of Richmond county, D'Escousse is one of the main settlements on the small island. The drive to D’Escousse can be a bit twisty and turny, but the scenery more than makes up for the time spent getting there. In fact, it’s worth it to head to the concert early and take some time to explore the rocky, rugged coast of Isle Madame. Once you get to D’Escousse, there is no question that you’re in for a good time. Known for his folk and traditional style of music, Richmond county native Roger Stone is certainly no stranger to Celtic Colours audiences. This year the multi-instrumentalist and singer has teamed up with another Richmond county native, sing-songwriter Leona Burkey, for this homecoming concert in D’Escousse. New Hampshire-based harper and singer Dominique Dodge will be getting together with Cape Breton fiddler and singer-songwriter Rose Morrison for some traditional and original tunes and songs in Gaelic and English. The good times continue in D’Escousse with Gordie MacKeeman and his Rhythm Boys whose energetic stage presence, enthusiastic dancing, and exuberant fiddle playing may leave you feeling a little exhausted, but energized none-the-less. And that’s what we call a good time!
