Whycocomagh Gathering is one of those Celtic Colours concerts that has a long history. Usually among the first concerts to sell out, regular Festival attendees know to expect a high-energy concert that will leave them exhilarated. Those high expectations will be met again this year at the Whycocomagh Education Centre with tunes and songs from Scottish and Cape Breton traditions. Tonight is your last chance to see Blazin’ Fiddles. Featuring some of the hottest contemporary fiddle players from the Highlands and Islands of Scotland, nobody captures Scottish fiddle music’s variety, energy and sensitivity the way they do. Fiddler and dancer Janelle Boudreau from Arichat on Isle Madame has entertained visitors throughout Richmond County and at concerts and dances around the Island. Making her second appearance at Celtic Colours, she’ll be accompanied by her father James on guitar. And with some songs and steps and tunes from West Mabou native Sarah MacInnis and her mother, Mary Elizabeth, this Whycocomagh Gathering sounds like a proper céilidh.
Hosted by Whycocomagh Volunteer Fire Department
