For some folks, the music is simply “in the blood” and tonight’s lineup proves that to be. Both Buddy MacMaster and Bill Lamey have carved a path for today’s generation of violinists. We know how proud they would be when two generations later, their kin have taken up the mantle and continued on in the Gaelic tradition. The music is surely in the blood with Doug Lamey and Sarah MacInnis. Matt MacIsaac was born into the music too, coming from a piping family in St. Peters, Richmond County. Matt started playing whistle and pipes when he was 10 years old, and he has gone on to perform and record with Natalie MacMaster and Beòlach, as well as winning medals in competition and travelling with Royal Canadian Air Force competitive pipe bands. Irish singer Diane Cannon comes from the heart of the Donegal Gaeltacht, where she inherited her musical talents from both sides of her family. All four grandparents were accomplished musicians and singers and Diane has followed in their footsteps.
