While folks in this show might not be related, that doesn’t account for much when passionate musicians come together, united in the shared connection of, and love for, music. This lineup will make for a magical evening in the United Protestant Church of Sydney River. As new and old melodies soar and swell around you, you’ll be wishing that time would stand still and that the music could go on and on. Howie MacDonald, a well-respected fiddler and piano player will play alongside Beverly MacLean, an established fiddler and piano accompanist, and multi-instrumentalist Aaron Lewis. Still in her teens, Mary Frances Leahy has established herself as a ûddler, pianist, dancer, and composer who’s developing her own style, rooted in her Celtic heritage but also heavily influenced by jazz and Latin sounds. Past Artist in Residence Troy MacGillivray joins Mary Frances as she makes her Celtic Colours debut tonight as a solo artist. And Matt MacIsaac completes the evening with a set of tunes on the bagpipes. Everyone on stage tonight is an accomplished player of more than one instrument. It will be exciting to see them all united in music for one big session of a finale.
Hosted by Men's Brotherhood-United Protestant Church of Sydney River
