It's going to be a lively night of tunes tonight in Boisdale, and that's just the way they like it here! Celtic Colours has been helping raise the roof at the Boisdale Fire Hall since 2002, and we’re sure tonight’s concert will do its part to continue that tradition. Canadian Master Fiddler Gordon Stobbe will be there with his duo partner and fellow North American Fiddlers Hall of Famer, JJ Guy, an award-winning Saskatchewan fiddler himself. Gordon’s old bandmate from The Ladies’ Choice Bluegrass Band, Skip Holmes, will also be on hand with one of Canada’s premier piano accompanists, Nova Scotia Country Music Hall of Famer Kimberley Holmes. Kimberley and Skip have worked with a who’s who of Maritime traditional musicians, including Troy MacGillivray who certainly knows his way around the tunes whether on fiddle, piano, or his feet. And Stacey Read, a passionate voice for the fiddle music of her home province New Brunswick, will make her first appearance at Celtic Colours. Completing the lineup tonight is a trio of Cape Breton players and dancers steeped in traditional music, Stephanie MacDonald, Susan MacLean, and Leanne Aucoin. If you’re a fan of fiddle tunes, from the Scottish, Irish, Cape Breton, Down East, Bluegrass, or Old-Time traditions, the Boisdale Fire Hall is where you want to be tonight.
