St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church is the perfect setting for The Men of the Deeps. Coal mining was the reason why many Presbyterian settlers from Scotland came to Sydney Mines, leading to the construction of this magnificent building. The Men of the Deeps will welcome home Dan MacDonald and his group North Atlantic Drift, formed with Ireland's Brian Taheny and Ontario piper Ross Griffiths. Sydney Mines’ own Leanne Aucoin will share some great Cape Breton fiddle tunes joined by close friends Susan MacLean and Jesse Lewis on piano and guitar. There’s a lot of heart and soul here tonight.
