The link between Inverness in Scotland and its namesake in Cape Breton has always been strong. It starts with language and extends to the repertoire and style of the music. Today in the beautiful church in the village we bring the Scottish Gaelic roots to the community that has proudly called itself Inverness. Cruinn is based in the original Inverness. The band consists of four of Scotland’s premier Gaelic singers including Brian Ó hEadhra, who is well-known to our audience from several previous visits to Celtic Colours. His wife Fiona Mackenzie comes from a family of Gaelic singers while James Graham and Rachel Walker each have solo careers. Arthur Cormack from the Isle of Skye has been a champion of the Gaelic language all his life. His return visit will be a treat for local Gaels. Ian MacDougall and Pius MacIsaac are two of Inverness County’s best dance players. This is a homecoming to remember.
