What do you call 28 folk musicians playing together as an orchestra? We call it the Unusual Suspects of Celtic Colours. When this musical extravaganza first hit our stages in 2004, nobody really knew what to expect. This was a big band playing a repertoire of traditional music, arranged as a folk orchestra and made up of musicians from Scotland and Cape Breton. Well, it was a big hit and when we brought it back in 2006, the tickets flew. So our 20th anniversary would not be complete without revisiting this amazing project. Arranged and directed by Corrina Hewat, David Milligan and Allie Bennett, this edition of the Suspects includes artists from Scotland, Ireland, Cape Breton, BC and the UK. Instruments range from fiddle and piano to electro harp, pipes, flutes, accordions, a horn section and percussion, all in a massive folk orchestra based on our Celtic cultures. It will blow your mind to see members of your favourite bands and soloists in a completely different context. Hold on to your hats, The Unusual Suspects of Celtic Colours are back!
