It’s no secret that Alexander Graham Bell not only loved music, but was quite a musician himself. As we mark the second year of partnering with the Bell Museum to host a concert in this unique space, we’ll toast the man himself the best way we know how - with music he would surely love. Tonight we’ll hear from three pairs of delightful duos who’ll share Gaelic songs, impressive playing and a little bit of dancing. Coming from Bell’s birthplace of Scotland, Gaelic singer Cathy Ann MacPhee is back to delight with her traditional songs and witty banter. She’ll be joined by harp player Patsy Seddon. Son and father duo Maxim and Gervais hail from Chéticamp. Their intricate finger picking style on guitar will have your eyes glued to those frets. And duo Andrea Beaton from Inverness County, with fiddling friend Véronique Plasse from Quebec, are the perfect package bringing fiddle, vocals and steps. Bell would be delighted.
