As the title implies, these are songs created just for you, from scratch, here at Celtic Colours. Borrowing on the idea of the Burns House song creation project in Scotland, we’re making this a completely Canadian endeavor in light of Canada’s big 150th birthday. Artist in Residence James Keelaghan, Cape Breton native Bruce Guthro, Prince Edward Island darling Catherine MacLellan, Ontario’s Lynn Miles, and JD Edwards and Cara Luft of The Small Glories, from Manitoba have been at it night and day all week, sequestered in the Song House writing original songs inspired by each other’s roots, the places they they call home, and the places they’ve travelled in this great country of ours. Tonight they emerge to share their favourites with us. It promises to be a special and intimate evening for lovers of song everywhere.
