Tunes on the Mira

The Mira River is a beauty to behold, inspiring tribute in song and recognition around the world. The river makes its way past the communities of Albert Bridge, Marion Bridge and Mira Gut, then out to Mira Bay. Warm hospitality, good music and good times have always been the way along the river, where sharing songs and playing tunes is tradition. This afternoon will be no different when piano player Tracey Dares MacNeil, who grew up in the Marion Bridge area, will be joined by her daughters The MacNeil Sisters for beautiful Gaelic songs, tunes, and dancing. Matthew Byrne wraps up his all too brief visit in Cape Breton singing songs on the Mira, before heading home to Newfoundland and Labrador. Some traditional tunes from North Sydney fiddler Mike Barron and New Waterford’s Doug MacPhee on piano complete this afternoon visit on the Mira. Make the most of this matinee and take in the scenery along the way.
