Sweet sounds will be rising to the rafters of this beautiful new Celtic Colours venue tonight. And really, is there any more appropriate place than a beautiful church for the sublime sounds of harp and uillean pipes, the delicacy of fiddle and guitar, or the exuberance of voices singing in chorus? This is one of those concerts that you can picture each of the artists ducking out to the back of the audience to watch the others perform. And who could blame them? The Irish pipes and harp duo David Power and Triona Marhsall will set the scene for this uplifting evening with sensitivity and style. Cape Breton fiddler Dwayne Côté is known for his expressive playing in a variety of styles, and Roger Stone’s accompaniment, on guitar or banjo, is always sympathetic and fitting to the tune. A popular singer and songwriter himself, Roger’s voice will ring out, whether singing his own songs or anything from the folk-trad songbook. Expect a rousing chorus from the Men of the Deeps. Just imagine the sound of all those voices, together in song, rising to the rafters!
