A perennial favourite at Celtic Colours, the Pipers’ Céilidh never fails to thrill pipes enthusiasts of all description. This afternoon concert takes place at Colaisde na Gàidhlig / the Gaelic College in beautiful St. Ann's. The only institution of its kind in North America, piping has been taught at the College for many years. Each year the Festival features a variety of pipers and piping styles and this year’s line-up offers just that. Mabou-native Angus MacKenzie’s piping plays a leading role in the Highland music of award-winning Scottish group Dàimh. The Cape Breton University Pipe Band is a competition and performance band that started in 2014. The Band has competed successfully in Highland Games across the Maritimes and in Ontario with many first-place wins, including the Grade 5 North American Championships at the Glengarry Highland Games in Maxville, Ontario in 2019. Brothers Aidan and Cameron MacNeil are members of the Pipe Band, and Aidan has also been duty piper at Colaisde na Gàidhlig / the Gaelic College. They will be joined on piano by their sister Emma.
Hosted by Colaisde na Gàidhlig / The Gaelic College
